What a great weekend. While the boys were visiting family on the other side of the state, I spent spent three days on my horse. (I never get to do that anymore!) Anyway, besides the back end of a lot of cattle, I got to see a mama coyote, a bear and her yearling cub, and these handsome devils:

We live in the far NE corner of Oregon. I forgot to mention that I saw a newborn fawn yesterday, too!

they look just like all my childhood story books said they would.

the old barn boards in back and tall grass in makes a nice setting for these two... looking at them I wonder where the farmer's got to.

Erin, I'm in Oregon too. But on the west side of Mt. Hood [fairly close to it]. So you're in Eastern Oregon? What part??? I need to move there lol!

Thank you, George. The one on the left sat down like that first, and I thought cool photo. Then the one on right joined him, and I thought AWESOME! I couldn't have asked for them to pose any nicer.

Thanks! This is an old homestead that sits next to the highway that runs through our county. No farmer here! There were FIVE of these guys running and playing yesterday. What a treat. I actually had to run 7 miles home and back to go get my camera when I saw they were out playing.

Okay, so as not to be misunderstood, I refigured my saddle time for ya:

I was on a horse parts of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Total time in the saddle was: 17.5 hours out of 48 (starting 4 p.m. Friday through 4 p.m. Sunday.)

I really should be more specific with my posts. But, you know how us cow folks are with exaggeration.....

That is a very cool shot Erin, it seems strange to me to see them out in the open like that. Are these foxes native to the States or were they imported by the poms like ours. There is a bounty on foxes in Oz, has been for decades.
