Butterfly Thread Anyone?

Hello Alan,

Here's another one:

Taken with the E-10 + Mcon-35 + 2x Cokin (+3) close up lenses.
That guy need a shave ... ;-)
BTW, my images aren't "lurking" on my HD, but on CD-R. One never can know ...

Great close-up Jaja. I just bought My E-10 last month and nay extra cash has gone to memory and NiMh's, etc. instead of a macro lens. So it's good to see what can be done. And yes some cash got siphoned off for a cd burner also. I just have to be better about backup!

I enjoyed lookong at the various Dragonfly photos and comments very
much. I was out photographing our daylilies when this Tiger
Swallowtail came along. Later, looking at the picture I thought
there are probably more E-10 photos of butterflies lurking on hard
drives out there?
Yep,

Previously posted to this forum with the subject Painted Lady. A check of my butterfly book show that it is really a Small Tortoishell.

Hey,

You guys with hot climates have a distinct advantage!

Here in the Northern Latitudes (Scotland) we have to fight for every shot!

The original thread that started this one off...

is in sunny Austin, Texas. I've been fortunate enough to have been in Zilker Park, having worked in Austin for a couple of years..

For butterfly photos, I think we should introduce a handicapping system :)

Here's a lucky shot. I've chased butterflies all over and not been able to get a good picture but, this one just landed on a rock right next to me with his wings open. I was so excited I fumbled around and scared him off. He came back to the same spot and I took so long to get the focus right and check my settings, he left again. He came back again! And spread his wings so I flipped to autofocus and got my shot. Whew! My heart was pounding by the end of all that. J-

The first one is great! I've never seen a butterfly picture taken from that angle. Way to go! He looks like a big bomber coming in with his wings straight out like that. J-
