Did anyone see CSI on tv last night?

and I promise I did not photoshop the smoking gun into photo...... nor did I remove the lipstick from the glass with the clone tool.....

moe seriously, is it only Canon who offer a "data verification kit" so that checksummed pics can be delivered with proof they've not been altered?

i mean, it's not like law enforcement are small customers . . .
 
raw files cannot be retouched - only the jpegs/tiff made from them... i know of a couple of systems that are used by police etc that show up any amendment - I recall IWS who also do pro photography software have sothing of that ilk too.....

No, you could forge a raw file. You can alter the exif, for instance.

Some companies create circuitry to simulate the images taken by a raw chip to create the DSP, etc... Remember, it is only ones and zeroes...
