Indy 500 Photo..Your Comments

I have a question to ask you. please e-mail me Thanks in advance!!

Andy

BTW nice pictures!!!!!!!!!

It looks like it was shot from the platform at the South end of the bleachers on top of the F-1 garages. In other words, just as the car heads into turn 1.

I work as a photographer at the track. If this is where you took the picture, you found one of the great places to get good side pan shots without credentials.

Like John, I too shot at IMS. Nice pan shot. There's also a non-credentialed cool look a the cars in Turn 1 from the far end of the top of E Stand.

The only difference I can see is that you can blow a lot more shots and it doesn't cost you anything more than time. Also, unless you were shooting film with an F6, you will be able to track much faster cars much more accurately with the D2 body. There is nothing quite like it...and I mean nothing.

The first row at the top of E is a great place. Did I run into you up there last Sunday during the first qual period?

John,

I agree... I shot from the drop gate in T1 on "Pole Day" with my new D2h. Only used AF-C with my 300 f4. About 80% were keepers in terms of focus... and 8 fps to boot! Freaking amazing!
