Lightsphere II WOW

Actually, you have a very good point about battery usage since this seems to be the weakest point in the chain (unless you get some kind of external battery).

Also you point about using high ISO in combination with fill flash is well taken. Seems that people don't use this capability often enough.

Cheers,

. Although bad
pictures due to such gadgets can result due to unnecessary loss of
flash powers, there is also the chance of missed shots due to
longer recycle times. Secondary costs exist too in the form of
increased battery usage etc., but this is really nitty gritty.

Battery / recycle issues are a weakness of on-camera flashes in general, one cannot really fully blame LOmnibounce & Co. I'm aware that it is nitty gritty, but I just wanted to point out that such light modifiers do have their costs.

I don't claim the full coypright on this thought, but I think it is very important and it hasn't really hit mainstram yet. I am planning to illustrate this idea with comparison pictures soon.

Sounds good but please open a new thread. :-)

Just my 10 cents.

OH NO.....

For the longest time, I have held out on the value of my opinion. I have stayed at a firm 2¢ since the beginning. Recently, though, I having increased my "opinion value" (or "OV") to 2-1/2¢. This is in part because of inflation and the usual increase in the consumer price index. Also, as I get older and more experienced, I feel that I ought to be able to boast my OV so I can impress my coworkers and fellow photogs (not to mention Resta whatshisname)..

Now, here comes Vance with, "just my 10 cents." That's 400% higher than me! What should I do. If I increase my OV to 10¢, then people will think 1) that I am a copycat, or 2) I am greedy. If I stay at 2-1/2¢, will people think I am cheap? Will my OV be considered inferior to Vance's. What is a person to do? I can see my worst fears come to pass; another sleepless month ......
