First Photo from Maine

when i used the zoom control that Phil has provided for each image I thought wow! that's a great view to look at 1st thing in the morning. It must be beautiful in the winter with ice on the lake and snow on the ground. and I bet the fall colors are really vibrantly stacked.

why don't you show us some of your work Bill? then we could see what you mean.

Hey there, Laurie!

Hope you're having a great time......we're leaving for Baltimore
tomorrow.

BTW, where in Maine is that? Which lake or pond?

David
Hi David -

I'm staying on Megunticook Lake in Camden. My mom has a home on Rockport Harbor, just 5 minutes away. Beautiful country! Hope you and your son have a great time in Baltimore. Of course you'll take photos with E-10 along - need I ask?? Enjoying the Bogen 3055?

Thanks to others who replied - this is larger, I hope. I've got a slow dial-up connection, so I apologize if it's still too small. What is the normal or usual size for posting here??

Best - Laurie

Hello Laurie,

Greta shot, bu I wish it was larger ...
BTW, when I drive 12 hours, I will be far away from Belgium :-)
It's only 4 hours driving from border to border at the widest ....

Hi Jaja - I did resize, in a message below, and hope that's big enough. Your country is small, but so much beauty within its boundries! (So well displayed by your photos.)

Here are some unusual cows that I'm told can only be found here. They are the Belted Galloways of Rockport, Maine. Photographed at dusk, without a tripod, so it was difficult to get enough light - also, somewhat grumpy 87-year-old mother in car telling me to hurry up! (Some things never change. )

Best,
Laurie

Ah yes.....the Camden/Rockport area is stunning. Are you doing Boothbay and Damariscotta, as well?
Hope you

But of course! Taking both the E-10 and the C-2100. Hope to get some Inner Harbor/Zoo/Aquarium shots. And Gettysburg...
Enjoying the Bogen 3055?
Actually, yes......thanks for asking. It's perfect for my needs, and sits ever so prettily on the 3021Pro tripod.

So....please keep posting from Maine. The larger size is perfect. I wish you continued crisp sunny Maine days for the remainder of your vacation!

I don't know yet - it's so beautiful here, it's hard to think of moving.

I've been meaning to ask you what you use your C-2100 for. (I still have my C-2000, which I kept supposedly for traveling, and which has never left my house or its case since buying my E-10.)
So....please keep posting from Maine. The larger size is perfect.

Thanks for the feedback on the size. Hope the Orioles play a great game for you and your son.

"Orioles" + "great game" = oxymoron?

Actually, my son roots for them, win or lose. The poor lad....

As for the C-2100, it (like your C-2000) has fallen into radical disuse since the E-10 arrived. However, since I don't have a TCON-300 (yet? ugh...) the Uzi may prove its mettle for longer range sports shots, and perhaps for capturing a reluctant and drowsy Baltimore Zoo denizen hidden away in the rear of its pen. As you no doubt know, the 2100 has native 10x stabilized zoom, and with the B-300 tele, its effective 35mm equivalent range increases to 646mm!

Lobster prices tolerable? I haven't been over to the "homeland" yet this season, so feeling a bit out of touch...

Take care, and enjoy the rocky coast,

David

Already a lad of infinite wisdom.

Right - I forgot that the 2100 isn't just a spinoff of the C2000 (like the C3000, C3030, etc..) Makes sense - far more portable than the TCON-300, although I did lug mine up here.

I haven't had one yet, unless you count a $9.95 lobster roll - sure was tasty! I mostly focus on the clams, since I can only get them here. Have a great trip.

Hello Laurie,

It seems to be "cow week" :-)))

My passengers know that when I suddenly stop, they have to wait untill the photos are taken - I always take the car keys with me "for in case" :-)))
Thanks for your kind words about my photos ...

Hello Ray - yes, you are correct - I should have said the only place in the US to have these cows. Their name here was changed to "Belted Galloways" with an "o" . . . and now that you mention it, it may also only have one "L". With no spell checker, we'll have to wait until I drive past them tomorrow to be sure. I'm sure they were originally "Galway" - which is the spelling my colleague, Jimmy Galway uses, so it must be right!
Best,
Laurie

Yes, flutist and piccoloist. And yes, that's THE JG - very down to earth, friendly and personable. Even jokes about his fame - at one point, his email address was "Himself@xxxxx"! Quite a charming character, really.

Laurie. I loved it there. I went to teach a genetics course at the Jackson labs and brought the family. I hope to be invited back. I guess I stumbled onto this forum as a mistake. I took the photos with a canon D30 not an olympus. mark
Laurie:
I just spent a week in Bar Harbor ME. Here are some of my shots.

Bar Harbor and the National Park are quintessential Maine, aren't
they? Your photos are lovely - the lighting was amazingly
cooperative, particularly in the deer shot. Wish I could make it
up there this trip - we'll see.

Best,
Laurie
