Got this idea from another forum. Would like to know what part of
the world are you from? Are any 6900 owners in Texas? I myself am
from Corpus Christi Texas home of the great beaches.
I did own a 4900 for about 3 months and I have since sold it and
purchased the 6900. I also manage to upload a few pictures of the
State Capital and a few more events before I sold it.

I am from Mumbai in India. I am very fond of Nature photography
both flora and Fauna. Unfortunately this is the peak of the rainy
season and hence cant take meaningful shots. Its a tropical
downpour here most of the time and cant afford to risk taking my
6900 outdoors. I bought the 6900 a month ago from Singapore and
before this I had the Fuji Classic - MX 700 a great little digicam
which was the first 1.5 mp camera 3 yrs back. I also own a Canon
A-1 with various lenses.
Some of the best portraits i shot were taken in this type of
weather; photogs spend great deal to get the effect. Lately I have
had too much sun, too much contrast.
Dear 69er, I agree for portraits this weather is great and I have taken some great macro shots of flowers on my terrace with the enhanced effects of water drops on the petals but going out in unpredictable weather is a risk as my beloved 6900 may catch a cold in the rain Achoooo!

Greetings from County Kildare, Ireland. Got my 4900 last October and have not stopped grinning since. Great camera. I prefer to shoot landscapes and use Photosuite4 for stitching panos. I also use a Mamiya645, but that may soon be retired! Off to Chicago, Milwaukee and N.Y. in two weeks, so I got myself an Image Bank last week. The grin just got wider!!

Care to share some information on the Image Bank. Is it the same as a digital wallet or a different brand....

Thanks

Hi a2rob,

The quickest way to get some real info. and see some camparisons is to go to the "storage and media" forum, go back one page to the thread "Image bank/tank vs Dig wallet vs Image album" started by Dirk 6 days ago. The first reply from Reto Bolliger dated 7/15/2001 will tell you all you need to know. My (limited) personal experience is that this gadget does exactly what it says on the wrapper! I had some difficulty loading I.B. driver onto my p.c., but that was down to my own lack of techie-type knowlege. Having transferred several 64mb SM cards to the IB and copied them to my p.c., I am quite happy to trust my latest toy with my holiday pics.
Hope this helps, Derek2.

Eric,

I have had great results form an HP 1220c. A bit expensive and 13 inch printer width but the sample 6900 pics I have printed out on A3 paper look great. I am in Australia trying to get a 6900 to replace my Coolpix 990 which went missing. I guess the Epson equivalent is the 1290 in Aus - or the 2000 if you want archival prints.

For a year now I have been creating panoramas using Panaview Image Assembler (Canadian) and sucessfully printing photos up to 13 x 50 inches. Typical panoramas are 1900 x 7500 pixels created from 2048 x 1536 images (portrait mode). I am hoping to go somewhat larger with the 6900 when I can get my hands on one.

I'm from beautiful Redondo Beach California. And I'd like to thank
everyone in this forum for all the great things they said about
this camera as they influenced me to buy it.

I'm Tom from Virginia Beach.

I'm a contractor and work on lots of gray ships.
I got the 6900Z after studying various forums.
Prior SLR Pentax owner.

Will use camera for both work and play.

So far, just getting the hang of the digital world, shutter hang-time, and the convenience of being in control from the shot to the print.
Great fun!

When I feel worthy I will post.

I'm living in Belgium. I own my 6900Z since two months.

My two 30 years old are in the cupboard now. I will not sell them, before they are really antique :-) .

I use the 69 for my hobby. (and sometimes for the family, when my wife asks for it... )

Because I was used to make B/W pictures I still enjoy to do it the digital way.

Some pictures from me are posted on the guests archives of "DIGITAL FRIENDS" http://ibelgique.ifrance.com/digitalfriends/
B/W and color.

Sold my 4900 for a new 6900. Loved my 4900 and expect to really love the 6900! My shots ending being a lot of my Maine Coon Cats, the Boston Terrier dogs and the Golden Retreiver.....and beautiful Montana...the Bitterroot Valley!

Soon to take many photos of the county fair and a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Yep, after weeks taking in all this info from the Forum and exhausting every magazine at the news agents counter I have my new 6900. I have given up the 35mm film to go digital. I hail from County Durham in the North East of England. Your likely to see plant life, sunsets and northern landmarks to start with.

This is Ed in Charleston, SC checking in. I see I'm in fast company as I look at so many great pictures which I'm counting on helping my photography. I've had a 6900Z for about as month now and love it. This comes after a couple of years with a Kodak 215. An Epson Stylus Color 900 so far meets my needs on printing. Best to one and all.

Hi Dave,

I am in a process of selecting digital camera you just recently complete with success. I have experimented with other digicams and found that at X6 the longest exposition (without tripod) shod not exceed 1/150 to 1/200 because the actual resolution in pixcels for longer exposition drops dramatically. What is your experience in this problem (if it is a problem)? Did you consider a stabilized lens?
Thanks for the advise.

Hi Rob,

I live in the UK, just outside Manchester.
I did have a FP4900 for about a month, but then upgraded to a FP6900.
Both great cameras.

My sample pics can be found below:

I do not 6900 but consider it. Somwhere above in this string I have left this message for Dave somewhere above in this string. Owners of 6900 please help. How 6900t works at x6 zoom without using a tripod?

4900z here
Saanich Peninsula, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada

Michigan checking in here. Most recently used my 6900 on Mackinac Island---no cars allowed, lots of horses and bikes, and the world's longest porch on the Grand Hotel, where they expect you to dress for dinner. Also possibly the fudge capital of the world.
