Are these D2X files lost forever?

Recorded about 90 NEF and basic JPEG images on my Lexar 2G CF. As I usually do, used Windows cut/paste to move them from the card to PC hard drive. Got up to 67. The rest will not copy, message is:

"Can not copy DSC0067: The Parameter is incorrect.

I am not able to open either the NEF or JPEG files directly from the card either, in PS or NC... And, yes, I tried other ones other than number 67...

Are these files lost/corrupted or what? Any way to recover them? Tried searching on the error message, didn;t find anything...Any help appreciated. Craig

Any thoughts? Should I just delete these files, format the card and start again? Thanks

Try something like Lexar's ImageRescue program and cross your fingers.

Often it can rescue large percentages of lost files.

Try loading these images back into the camera (I am sure they willl bwe OK) and then use fire wire to xfer to your computer. See if that works.

Thanks everybody, I will go to the lexar site and look for that program. I really would like to find a way to get the last 30 images off the card that is still in the camera...

The first thing you should do is delete file number 67. I've had something very similar happen on my D2H a few times, and it hoses up NikonTransfer until I first delete the offending file. I know you aren't using Transfer, but just the same, delete the offending file and then try transferring the file again. If it doesn't help, you're no worse off than you are now.

Hans.

Windows is kinda dumb, when it hits a file that it can't copy it stalls completely. I have had this happen to me and by going to the files immediately behind the corrupted file I can get everything except the corrupt file.

I have had this happen to me also. I had to shut down the program and/or re-start the computer and start over. I got that very same error message and panicked but it worked after doing what I just said.
