I would appreciate some input from another D7 owner, to see if some odd behavior on my camera is a flaw, or a 'feature' (read as bug). I've noticed that the EVF, when indoors, isn't very reliable as to whether it is in color or dim-light B&W mode, even under the same lighting conditions and pointed at the same subject. More unusual, I find that the 4x magnification 'manual focus assist' feature cannot be accessed while the EVF has put itself into the B&W mode. I don't recall reading anything about that in the manual. Do others find the same?

Just trying to find any potential glitches during my 2 week grace period where I can still return it to Samy's.
Thanks.

I think that's normal. Mine does the same.

However I think there is a bug in the EXif info related to Shutter time. My 4sec shots read 2sec using ACDSee, and the Minolta Image Viewer also got it wrong. I had to shoot a clock with a second hand to convince myself that I actually got a 4 sec exposure.

Mine behaves the same way. If it's in color is has to get quite dark before it switches. Once it's there it has to get quite a bit brighter before it switches back. It seems quite consistent when tested carefully but when just playing around it can seem erratic. They want to avoid constant switching which would be quite a nuisance so it seems like a good engineering decision to me - not a bug.

4x mag also doesn't work in B&W. It doesn't seem unreasonable to me that this might be necessary in the B&W mode. The manual (pg 72 - last sentence) describes this behavior. So I'm not willing to call it a bug or a feature - just an engineering necessity.

Thanks for pointing that out. I must have missed it on my first read through the manual.
