Best Lens for low light/action/sports

Kolt,

you say you use the 85/1.8 on an EOS 1DII. Do you think it is still the best chouce for EOS 20D or Rebel XT, as it is somewhat longer on these cameras?

Regards,
Martin

I haven't done indoor yet with Canon, but with the 1.5x crop on Nikon the lens I used the most was my 50mm f/1.4, for basketball. The 85mm f/1.8 was the next most used, and after that I'd throw on the 70-200mm f.2.8 in extremely well lit situations (which are nearly non-existent). I don't think anyone mentioned 50mm, but from under the basket I found it to be the best unless you wanted cropped players. The 50mm f/1.8 is darn close and cheaper. Unless you are going to shoot from the stands, the 135mm on that crop factor is going to be a little long.
