I recieved the CGA-S002 Maxell battery in the mail from buy.com and I was dissapointed to see that the battery does not fit well into the battery slot. The battery seems too snug and it is hard to pop out. I was thinking of purchasing a Panasonic battery to play it safe. Does anyone have any good advice? I plan on returning the maxells since they are a bit too snug for my taste.

Which camera are you using? I too just got a Maxwell battery from Buy.com for my FZ20 and had no problems with the fit. I could not tell the difference when comparing it to the original Panasonic battery.

I had heard the same thing about the Maxell battery being to snug. I wonder is they don't have multiple production runs floating around?

I've one branded Ever Ready (bought in the UK) which is probably the same thing in reality - it's a bit over-snug in my FZ20 (doesn't bounce up when the battery catch is twitched) yet conversely doesn't "clunk" as firmly into position in the charger.

Mind you, it works fine and holds onto its charge between uses rather more tenaciously than the Panasonic original, strangely enough.

I said my alternative battery was Ever Ready but apparently I'm having my (first?) senior moment! I meant Energizer...

My Maxell battery doesn't really bounce up either. That made me a little concerned. I don't want to damage anything inside the camera because I am trying to use the Maxell battery. I would rather spend the extra money to have a battery that fits perfectly.

My two Maxell Batteries fit my FZ20 and charger perfectly. They outperform the original Panasonic battery I have. With that said, I think that there may be a bit of sloppy QA going on with ALL of these batteries. You'll hear different experiences from many users.
