dell just move my order back

now I just got email from Dell saying they cant ship before 5/10!!!! and my order will automatically be canceled if I dont contact them. All the coupons and discounts are worthless if they dont have what they advertise. So much for Dell. Time to order from B&H I guess.

But this thread wasn't about how much who paid... it wasn't even about the 300D. You act like it's an amazing feat that you got a 300D without having to wait and that you paid a lot less. That's not amazing... of course there's no wait for an older generation camera.

Apples and oranges... I don't even see why you made the comment you made in this guy's thread... I doubt he cares. If he wanted a 300D he could have ordered one. :)

Today, Monday May 2, I checked the Dell sight and it shows the XT shipped last Friday (even though I got the email telling me it was delayed). Funny huh :-)

As to the 50mm prime, it's cheap and light and I like the bokeh. No filters required, if it scratches or breaks, I'll treat it as a disposable.

I bought the 17-85 for my walk around. I spent about an hour doing in store testing and the IS gave me about twice as many keepable shots in low light. I've heard good things about the Sigma and must admit I didn't test that particular one. Perhaps I could've saved some money if I did.

I still have the $90 coupon, think I'll wait until the Dell pops the 15% off and Dell Preferred 10% off again. Then I'll go thru FatWallet.com get an extra 3% rebate. All that added together and the $90 will buy me either a 70-200 F4 L or a 580ex.
 
Ordered mine on 4/8 received it on 4/25 just as Dell quoted me.

Interesting thing is. They don't even have the Rebel XT Black with Kit Lens listed anymore???? Still waiting for more to be put together I guess.
 
Ordered 04/15, was supposed to ship today. Online status changed one hour ago to ESD 05/12.

Did a online chat with a Dell rep, was assured that the unit is shipping today.

I was persistant, stating all of the delay problems I have heard about here on this forum, and was assured it is shipping today.

So..... I guess I will wait and see what the rest of today brings in the way of shipment verification.

I'll be sure to hold my breath.

I ordered on 4/15 as well and had an original ship date of 5/2, however within the past hour, I got an email saying my ship date was pushed to 5/9. What did you say to the Dell Rep? I'd like to complain as well, but am wondering what's the best way to approach these people. Strangely, I checked my order status through the Dell website and it still lists 5/2 as the estimated ship date. I'm hoping the email I received was just an automated email that is generated if the status of your item hasn't changed to "shipped" by the originally estimated date.
 
Mine was supposed to ship today, but just got an email stating that it won't ship until 5/9. I am gonna get a hold of them and atleast get overnight shipping. I am a patient person, but this is not acceptable.
 
....well, you are going to have to wait no matter what, but I would call and complain, and make them credit you something, even if it is $50, or make something.....They gave me a $75 coupon that I used this weekend....might be good for a memory card to use the $75 coupon
 
Just got the delay notice this morning so already ordered from B&H. Dell will automatically cancel the order it said unless I notify them differently.

I just simply stated facts:

1) I was very disappointed that if the order is in fact to be delayed, they should not have waited until the day it is supposed to ship to tell me.

2) I reminded her what a good customer I have been with regards to computer systems and a PDA, as well as recommending thier products to my employers, who have purchased 3 laptops and a CAD workstation from them in the last four years, among other products.

3) I enjoy saving money as much as the next guy, but my patience has a limit. I don't mind waiting, I just want them to shoot straight with me. If you know you are not going to be able to deliver by the specified time, let that person know ASAP, not at the last minute on the supposed ship date.

Once I was assured that it will ship today, I thanked her and stated that if it did not, I would definately be talking to her tomorrow.

Mine was delayed from 4/29 to 5/12. I guess I can wait since I don't have time to go out and shoot yet. I doubt I can find a better price elsewhere compared to them. The 17-40L that I bought was shipped the same day though. The CF card that I ordered (Ultra II 2GB) has a ship date of 6/6. I chat with them online and I only managed to get the delayed items to be shipped overnight.
 
Like I said before. I got the delay ship notice on Friday 4/29. This morning 5/2, the Dell website 'My Account' showed my order status changed to 'Shipped' and the date is 4/29.

I had complained earlier and was upgraded to next day. I guess we'll see what shows up tomorrow.

Dell uses 3rd party fulfillment (CDW among others). It's entirely possible for a ship order to cross and delay update to the late notification system.
 
I feel like an idiot. I've been checking through out the day to see if I could get a shipper tracking number for my XT. I just realized I was reading the 'My Order' status screen wrong.

Dell is showing 'Shipped' for the $90 Concession Coupon, not the actual XT. Doh!

The XT is still scheduled for 5/6. Sorry if I confused others as much as I confused myself ;-(

Mine got pushed out as well..

New shipping date is
5-9 and I called them up..

Did not get $90 or $70 coupon, but was able to upgrade it to 'next day' service.
 
Starting price of 999, minus 15% camera coupon, minus 10% Dell Pref
Account coupon, minus 75 off 999 coupon. This should add up to
about 696 as long as I am not forgetting something.
Damn! Thanks! Here I have bought 4 PC's from Dell and I didn't get any notice about a 15% off camera coupon! Boy I feel left out! Thanks for the info!

Upon further review, I guess that didn't work. Order has definately been delayed to 5/12.

Got the standard shipping upgrade offer to overnight. But I can assure you, I will be doing some more complaining.

As I have stated before, I don't mind the wait. I just want a straight answer when a question is asked.

I miss B&H. I don't know if $220 saved is worth dealing with Dell.

Ordered Black Body XT on 4/8/05. Original ship date was 4/25/05. That got pushed to 4/29/05. That got pushed to 5/5/05. Still hasn't shipped. [Insert curse word here.]
