Checklisting final things for letting my S2 go and Kodak to come, one question arises : will my SB28 ( non DX ) will do TTL or will I need a DXflash like SB80DX ?

Helas, is there a difference in using a SB800 or SB80DX ? Or the most of SB800 metering and capabilites are only fully used in a iTTL camere like D2H/Hs/X so its not worth to buy 800 instead of 80DX for a SLRn ?

I use Quantum flashes when I'm in the field. I also have SB80Dx's on the Nikons and occ. on the SLR/n when I use both Quantums on radio and need a fill flash.

I've heard that the 800DX is awesome. If I had to buy a new one like that, I would go with the 800.

I just purchased the Kodak SLR/n after using Fuji S1 and S2 and I went for the SB800 flash. I thought it might be overkill, but it really works well with the Kodak.

Althought my Metz 54 MZ3 seemed to work with the Kodak, I could tell it wasn't nailing the exposures as well as the Nikon SB800.

I shot a wedding this weekend using the Kodak and SB800 and found it to be very accurate.

Good luck,

I bought the same combination. Can you tell me the best set up on the flash for minus one stop less on flash fill for outdoor portraits. I'm glad to hear that the SB 800 works well with the Kodak DCS SLRn.

Use the TTL BL mode for fill outdoors, you won't need compensation. Just remember to set it back to TTL indoors, or you'll be underexposed about 1 stop. FYI, I found the SB800 to be loads better than the 28DX or 80DX in terms of accuracy. Love the metal foot with locking lever on the 80 and 800.
