D70 flash sucks...

actually it's called zooming in image review.... fairly straightforward on the 300D no twists and turns required to go 'deeper' into your image

The DRebel is likely to be withdrawn from sale and may even be re-called for service due to its dangerously high flash output levels.

A number of spectators at a recent soccer match were rushed to A&E with severe blinding caused by a group of photographers using these cameras in the stands oppossite.

Various bodies including CSA, UL, BSI etc. are advising owners of the DRebel to place a warning sign (such as the international laser hazard sign) taped over the flash to prevent it's pop up operation and are urging users to return their units to Canon for power reduction.

A spokesman for Canon said the company was trying to improve its flash technology and wanted to err on the side of overexposure rather than adopt the rather cautious Nikon underexposure approach to using flash photography.

Almost as believable as Canons marketing picture!

..someone at a conference I was atending, taking flash pictures of slides being projected onto a screen. He must've taken a dozen exposures!!

You've got to be kidding me! HAHAHA. That is probably one of the stupidest/funniest things I have heard in a while.

I hope he enjoys his pictures of the white screen...

Here in the UK, we have speed cameras popping up all over the place (an easy fund raiser for government). A few years ago they were all film based (sadly most now are digital).

Some wise guys found a fault with the film verions in that they always fired a flash to capture the speeding car on film. Some folks started to fit slave triggered flash guns to the rear of their cars so that the camera flash triggered the car flash thus completely wiping out the rear of the car on the film!

Shame, the digital versions don't use flash!

ochhhh,

that's easily fixed.
Some weeks ago I bought a 50 watt halogen spotlight torch (re-chargeble)
from ALDI. 2.5 million candle power !
That will do the trick !

Cheers

One of the most important dutch export product :-/
But the digital version here does flash, but some uses infrared.

Oh well... Nothing a old tyre and some lighterfuel can't fix.
oops, didn't say that
(In the netherlands there are more speedtraps than trees)
