hi

i own a 5400 .

TV tubes usually have a refresh rate and results in moving horizontal lines .

What's the best way to capture a tv picture without the lines ?

Should I set S mode ?

Thanks for any advice .

regards,
Fred

are three taken with the Sony. I can't control speed, so it was catch as catch can. Wanted shot of dog, and had her standing by TV on the first two. They were taken with flash. The third was no flash. There are some lines on the first one, and lots on the second. I think the whole batch were pure luck to come out as well as they did. Exif data should show if you right click on the pix.

From my old 35mm film days, I recall it had to do with the shutter speed and camera's sync....SLRs used moving curtins and rangefinder's had the iris open/closing shutter.

I remember photographing Neill Armstrong's step off the lunar lander in July 1969 from our TV. I even got a shot of the American and Soviet astornauts shaking hands when we docked in the 70's with one of their ships in space.

Trial and errror is the way to solve this...at least with digital, it only costs you some battery power.

I was trying to take pictures of Pope Benedict's mass which was also a historic event on CNN . Did anyone take any nice pictures from Rome or on TV ?

Can anybody point me to the thread that teaches how to attach pictures to our messages ?

You have to put your images on a web site somewhere (Pbase if you want to pay, other web sites are free, you have to search) and you paste the image URL on the message, it will be linked (to get the URL, right-click on the image, select properties, and there's the URL). Be sure to add ".jpg" at the end of the URL if it's not there already.
