will the 714B support 20D and 70-200 f4 L ?? using it landscaape and portrait.

what do you think of these Bogen Manfrotto tripods:
714B
724B

is there better tripods ?
what is important to me is light Weight, short closed length and stability.

Thanks

Either one should do the job. I would just make sure that the included ball heads are removable, just in case you want something different, say like a pistol grip. That would be my only concern. I have a couple different heads that I like to use.

As far as supporting your body and lens, either one will work. The 70-200 f4L is a pretty light weight lens compared to its larger 2.8L IS brother. If you are planning to purchase any heavier lenses in the near future, I would go with the 724B. It holds a couple of more pounds then the 714B.

I have the Manfrotto 728B. I've used it with my 20D and the Sigma 80-400 OS lens. The lens alone weighs about 3 1/2 pounds. The whole setup was nice and stable, but when pressing the shutter button there's some movement in the rig. So I added a cable release which solved that problem.
Nice tripod, well made, has a panning head (which I prefer), compact.

The 719B looks good too, holds more weight then the other two at 8.8lbs. May be a bit sturdier, and priced about the same, under $100.
