How does the Nikon 20/2.8 perform for landscape photography? I realize that there is considerable distortion which creates a problem for architecture but this is not a problem for landscape and nature. It seems like a small, compact easily take-along lens. Thanks, Bill

I don't know about the Nikon 20/2.8 but this is how the Sigma 20/1.8
performs. (The Bridge by ranier) I have the Sigma and can say I like it
very much for landscape with the slr/n.

hi i have the nikon 20/ 2.8 and use it for landscapes it works perfect

I wouldn't recommend it for a 14n due to the Mauritian flag effect, but it should be fine on an SLR/n.

If you'd like to buy a used one that's only been driven by an old lady to go to church on Sundays, send me an email.

I think it's one of Nikon's secret great lenses. Almost everyone I know who has one has been surprised by its color and sharpness, and there's less distortion there than you'd think, as long as you can find a way to get the camera up high enough or down low enough to keep it horizontal. I use it constantly on film cameras; I tend to keep the zooms on the digital bodies to minimize lens changes, especially this (pollen) time of year.

I have an old manual focus AIs version of this lens and I use it on my SLR/n, sometimes even for architectural interiors with appropriate lens distortion correction plug-ins of course to cure the barrel distortion.

It is by no means the shaprest WA lens from Nikon's stable as the lens composition has not changed much since it was first released as an AI Nikkor, but still a sweet lens none the less.

As with any lens, wde open is for emergencies only and it is much better from f5.6 onwards. I get very satisfactory 13" x 19" A3+ prints from this lens.
