**Challenge 79 part 2 Dark Side Of The Moon**

I have the Canon 24-70, and I always say it's the next best thing to sliced bread. And it's built like a tank.

.. in my opinion is that you can see the pic and the rest of the comments, don't have to remember the names to whom you have to answer... don't like the font, though, of the comment box...

Hi Abstract,

You can name a shot as you wish but yes it's good if you can mention what lyric or song it relates too if only for my benefit as i'm really enjoying the different interpretations folks are making of specific songs/lyrics to how i think of them.

Paul

There was a CSLR Challenge so time ago that had two pictures with
the exact same name. I added a post to the CSLR Challenge thread
about changing the names but that never happened. I watched the
voting booth during that challenge and there seemed to be no
problem.
I remember it though I can't think of the title (or be bothered to look for it).

Yes the title appeared to be the same but it actually had an extra space in it to make it different. Clever eh?

Gday all,

just introducing myself. Andy from Uk now australian living in france. I've been through the eligibles in the gallery and commented on everyone i think. Hopefully nobody gets upset cos i tried to be honest. I'm no expert but i'd appreciate honesty when it comes to appraisals. I hope to add something to this challenge in the next couple of days. It is a very challenging challenge given the bredth of topics.

Nearly half time here in Sydney anyway.

I first heard Dark Side Of The Moon in '76/'77 and have listened to it countless times since through good and bad times and every song and lyric brings very specific thoughts to mind that i will never lose. The most fascinating aspect of this challenge -which is exactly what i was hoping for- is seeing wildly different interpretations from my own very literal ones. Those that don't or hardly know the music have produced photographs as different as those that know it off by heart and have taken their inspiration from just a few words or a single song title. I'm very impressed and look forward to the next week and further entries.

Already i have more than 5 i want to vote into first place so the voting is going to be very hard when it comes around.

As the person running the challenge i feel as if i should comment on each entry but as the entries increase i run out of time so apologies to those i miss. I look at them all and a lot of them i keep on coming back to and see something different each time.

Keep it up

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,

Was wondering if you are the same Paul who submitted "Breath". If so, why the two different names (Paul & Hergest). Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Sorry to be confusing.

I've always used Hergest Ridge on forums and did so when i joined here not realising that i'd be entering challenges where i like to use my real name. I should really re-register under my real name-or hopefully within time folks will realise that Hergest Ridge is Paul-unless there's another Paul of course.

The ugly mug in Breathe and In The Dark is me.

Regards
Paul

Hi again,
I'm sorry for my late reply.

No. I don’t have a 20D. Yet.
I just got a Pro1 five days ago and haven’t had much time to play with it yet.
So I guess I should finish RTFM and then use my camera a lot. :)

Then I'll come back here, do a search FIRST, and finally ask the questions I may have.

I'll check later if the Pro1 has the same options that you describe for light metering.
Thanks.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I had so many of them that I reshot the photo again instead of fixing it. The new picture has replaced the old one.

Hi challengers,

I woke up this morning and was delighted to find that my winning photo in CTF Challenge #76 was also selected as Australian digital photo of the day at http://www.potd.com.au . , in this months featured category "People and portraits".

I've noticed Gayle, has also had her fair share of APOTD winners at this site as well, not to mention a APOTM and having it published in "Australian Camera" magazine.

Just goes to show that entering photos in our little challenges is a good way to select your photos for other comps, if they fair well.

P.S. - This is my 5th APOTD in 3 months.

Kind Regards
