I just installed Windows XP Professional. Internet Explorer reset all my links, so DP Review was hidden somewhere instead of right on the front link bar. I closed Explorer, and changed the refresh rate on the monitor, and noticed this new empty square on the desktop. I clicked on it, and up came the DP Review web page!!!!! Now, it seems, Bill Gates knows our very innermost thoughts!!!! How'd they know to automatically open DP Review???
BTW, XP is a very welcome upgrade from WinMe.

Just about everything.

Since it's based on NT/Win2000 you'll find that it handles big work loads better and that it's more stable.
Downside would be that it is a tad more resource hungry.
And of course the fast that it isn't available yet other than beta/pre-release.

Mike, what build are you running?

The url would still work but Im sure the Icon graphic was missing. By the way when was XP released? I thought it was still in preview state?

thanks

From what I've read there's no possible reason why I'd want to upgrade from Windows 2000 to XP. Is there something worthwhile?

There is a lot of newer multimedia stuff, including better picture handling. For example a folder of pictures now shows the contents on the folder icon! The look is a lot closer to Apple than Windows.
