How many pictures do YOU take?

So I'm wondering, how may pics per month do you ladies and gents
take? I don't need to be psychic to guess that Jaja will take the
cake on this one :-) but I was wondering about the rest of you.
Lets do a poll!
Per month? About 6,000. I've had mine about a month now. I fried my little C3000. They don't hold up too well in 95+ weather. The E10 is rocking and rolling along without a problem.

Regards,

Marc

Well, I'm probably going to hit 300 this weekend alone (not even counting the July Challenge. We're having a surprise anniversary party for my aunt and uncle. I'm the "official" photographer.

Got the E-10 with 2 filled battery holders, more spare NiMh's, the FL-40 and Stroboframe bracket. Lots of CF cards. The Lowepro bag is crammed full of stuff.

This'll be my first serious test of the strobe rig. I'm usually an available light guy.

I'm a wuss, only about 300 a month
Yeah, well, me too --

I think I need to get out more ;-)

Well, I am at 1300 pictures since last December (30th) when I bought the camera, so that's about 185 pictures a month.

So I am definitely not in a competition with you guys for number of (or quality of) pictures taken ;-)

Cheers

Denis

PS. Interestingly enough, that's about double the rate at which I took pictures with my Coolpix 950 in the 18 previous months.

i've owned my E-10 a little less than a month and have taken about 1700 exposures with it. A lot of that was experimentation so I expect that rate to come down. In a given session, it is unlikely that I will shoot more than 60-80 frames unless there is really a lot going on or I am using the drive mode.

When I was shooting film, I could easily get through a whole trip on 2 24-exposure rolls of film. With a true consumer digicam, I would hit 50 in a day if I really tried. But with the E-10, it's so effortless, my rate has gone up quite a bit.
Hi All,

Just answered a post below, which made me see how long I've had my
E-10 --- Surprised to see that it's only been just under six
months, and I've shot 2k pictures.

An overall average, 1600 photos-per-month. On outings / vacations the average is 250 per day.

I am using an e10 and a c3040 with a total memory card limitation of 3 - 128 mb CF and 4 - 64 mb SM and a slew of 1600 mh Sanyo NiMH's.

With 256 mb CF cards coming down in price, it won't be long before I am able to spend every waking moment of my life with a camera stuck to my face.

Have fun... that's what this is all about...

I shoot about 500 per month. My wife is due any day now, (having contractions now) so I expect it to double when my son arrives. He's going to be the most photo'd kid since prince William.

Hi

good luck - is it the first? most wonderful thing that can happen to you - don't take too much notice of the camera, just take in the experience!

I'm sure everyone sends best wishes.

kind regards

Interesting figures: this from another post in the Nikon forum:

“(Interesting! I've shot some 20,000 exposures on my E10 in 8 months at an estimated cost in film terms for 555 rolls @ £13 (film & dev)=£7,200. At this rate I have the D1X paid for along with the SB28DX and the 17~35MM in under a year. Nice one.)”

Now I do know I was shooting just about 500~600 roles of film a year and with the busiest part of the year still ahead I'd say I've doubled by shooting rate with the E10.
Camera No2 since January 13996 = just 2000 per month – the same as
I was doing with film – interestingly!!!

Had 3,000 on my first one in a month and one of them reset after
3,000 so since November 8.5 months ago my total is 19996.

Amazingly I am not shooting any more frames than with film – yet I
would have said I was – what does this mean – I think it reflects
less work if I shoot more per job yet my average is the same – boy
would I be on a hiding to nowhere if that was film I was wasting!!
cut..

Hi, Ger Bee,

Yes, that's a neat way of looking at it -- I wish I could use that to justify a D1x for myself -- the big tele and my fisheye'd be fun --- not being a pro, though, it doesn't work for me. :-(

Anyway, nice to see that you still spend some time "slummin'" with us, here in good ole forum 1022!

I've had mine two weeks now and have taken just over 1500 pictures. Obviously this is not my normal pattern but I'm getting used to the camera :) Of the 1500, I've retained 850 in my library. Once I've settled down, I reckon I'll be taking around 400 a week.

BGC,

OMFG, that's a lot of money...and savings.

I haven't saved that much, but after 1700 photos, I figure I saved 71 rolls of 24 exposure film (avg cost 71x$9=$639) and developing (71x$10=$710), which comes to a total of $1349. The E-10 is just about to pay for itself.

Hello BGC,

Does that means I'm rich now? :-)))
Thanks ...

I did that calculation after you told me that you have taken 50,000
shots since 1999. As I recall, it came to about AUD40,000, or about
US$21,000. I guess your cameras have well and truly paid for
themselves :-)

Brian
Here are my numbers:
Since December 1th 2000 untill July 19th 2001 I took 23.953 photos ...
That's about 3.000 photos/month.
Now, if I really would have some time to take photos and if the sun
would shine here like she does in most other countries ...
Anyone interested in figuring out how much that would have costed
using "traditional film" and 15x10 prints? :-)
