Hello helpful forum people....

I just bought 2 more lights for my arsenal from Alien Bees, as well as the wired remote and a Pocket Wizard kit....

I'd like to use them on a shoot I have on this coming Tuesday, and am not sure if I am going to need to buy a wire/cord to connect the Pocket Wizard Receiver to the AB wired remote....How do these two connect?

Thanks in advance for your help, guys!

I think it's a 1/8" male stereo male to 1/8" male stereo. I'll be setting up the same thing on Wednesday next week when my PW plus kit arrives. I can't wait get rid of those darn wires.

Kent

The cable is a 1/8 inch mono plug. Stereo might also work. The Pocket Wizards and the AB lights both definitely take 1/8 inch plugs. I'm not sure about the wired remote however. Seems reasonable that it would use the same sync connection.

I'm gasp not using a light meter...I've assisted photog's that don't use them, so I guess I "adopted" that style...I'm shooting raw, blowing out the b/g to pure white, using a beauty dish for key light and a reflector for fill....

Thanks Kent!

So, just to get this straight - you have the AB Wired Remote?

The reason I'm asking is because from the photos on the AB site, I don't see the receptacle for the 1/8" plug (whether stereo or mono). I'm assuming its on the side of the unit...is that correct?

Thanks again!!

I was just wondering because there are inexpensive radio transmitter/slaves on eBay that I was considering using but wouldn't be able to trigger the strobes with my L-358 wirelessly. I figured that was the reason you were spending $300 more to do the same thing.

So get a 1/8" male mono to 1/8" male mono. It works wonderfully. I can't believe I waited this long to go with the PW and the radio transmitter for the L358. It is like a new rig. Best 360 bucks I've spent in a long time.
