Hey Adrian,

nice stuff, particularly like the "fisheye" - getting in some WA practice :). I also really like the one with the children in a row and the coppers jacket - though I think it'd be better if you cropped the jacket and the banana - the childrens expressions are great and the crop really focusses on them

cheers Gerard

The corrected link works, and your photos are definitely worth seeing, Ann! What shutter speed did you use to capture the hummers' wings as blurs instead of totally invisible? And that one hummer with what looks like a crooked beak - is it sticking out it's tongue? How did you get the hummers to "pose" for you like that?

Wow, Adrian, those are astonishing photos! I photographed at the recent peace march in San Francisco but didn't get anything so compelling. At first I was envious of your more colorful opportunity, but then I realized that you have the eye for street photography, and I need to learn how to take better advantage of the street opportunities I have. Thanks for posting those photos.

thanx Gerard - how'd u guess ;-)

i actually kept the 14-54 on the beast for longer than 2 minutes on sunday - some sort of record for me - and i had some fun with it, including that reflection in a 'mobile' brass mosque styled icon at the Rally.
I also really like the one with the children in a row

thanks for that - i used the scroll feature to test - and agree 100%

cheers mate, Adrian

thanx heaps Tony - i'm not convinced my speakers corner pics qualify as 'street photography' - I'm still intimidated 'on the street' - however, it has helped to make me feel comfortable in crowd situations like this - and i really enjoy the process of interacting with the people i'm shooting amongst. These i shot in SHQ - and i must admit to missing some of the pp options ORF provides - but i'm too lazy to pp my candids. thanks again, adrian

Wow; great sense of the scene conveyed!

I'm curious about your discomfort on the street. Feel like you're intruding?

Wow; great sense of the scene conveyed!
thanks searun - the first two pics i hoped would set the scene - any others could be/were just mini-events - in recent past i've been encouraged to provide more 'context' for some of my candids - mainly speakers corner.(thanx Sincerely Ozray!)

hmmmm... good question........ with speakers corner, and this 'gathering' that i came across accidently - there is a sense of occassion, and everyone knows it... so to do it justice 'photographically - i think you only need to become ' part of the crowd/event'.

'on the street' - it could almost be your living room - we are going about our business, often quite independently, and not expecting to be photographed.... ( i guess this is projecting how i feel) sooooo..... i have more 'angst' associated with pulling out the cam, and clicking away on the street - Yes - kinda like intruding..... but i guess like all things - practice, muther, practice - and it seems to become easier. thanx for that Q. searun.

A couple of bugs for the end of the week
(E1 50mm + Ex 25 + a very old Starblitz ringflash)

Enjoy them while you can - because I'm going to squash them before they enjoy my garden!
