'get you home' as canon described it. Does anyone tried using high capacity (eg 2500mAh) AA on it? Thanks

That's the thing... see, I have the grip. I could put AA's in there, but I assume they'll work just fine.

So then the next question is... how long do they last? Well, to find that out I'd either have to blow 1,000 frames off the life of my shutter probably, or use them when I go somewhere to shoot stuff a couple times. Which, if the pictures matter, AA's would be my backup only... I'd bring the Canon batteries first and IF those died, then I'd use AA's.

So, it's a tough question to answer. If you'd like, I can check to see if my 2250mAh batteries will power the camera up. If that's all your after. But I can't really do extensive testing to answer how long they last.

Over 150 pictures thus far. I would only use them for back-up or vice versa, use them until they are dead and then put in the regular ones. I really like the grip and the way it is made.

thats it. to measure its life by the number of "cliks" under normal shooting condition, just like using the primary NB-2LH. i just wanted to find out how far it can go.i think 2250mAh is fine. thanks

I tried some Power 2000 rechargable batteries and those didn't want to work for some reason.

However, when I tried Energizer E2 batteries I took 850 shots and still had batteries left. I probably could have gotten 1000 shots. Of course this was without a flash.

Now, I keep three charged regular batteries in my bag, plus 6 E2 AA batteries with the AA magazine.
