Hi people.

In recent times I've tried to start photo threads that I hoped would reach 150 photos.. Like 'show us your old camera' for example - which attracted 1 reply!!

This time I'd like to really get something going.

The theme is PROFESSIONAL-LOOKING shots! This means the shots that, if shown to anyone, would make them believe it was done by a working pro. Thus it would make sense for only amateurs to post pics.

I got some shots like that today. See them at http://www.pbase.com/ezekiel20/recent

And here's my entry. It's my stethoscope (I'm a first year in med school in Sydney), which I don't really know how to use yet.. Listened to an ICU patient's lungs with 'crepitations' last week at my hospital..

(Hope I can get this thread going.. will BUMP up in 12 hours if there is no response!!).

Regards

that it was taken with a 10D and 100mm f2.8 macro.

And also, I've started a thread before that read 'post your best pic ever' or something like that, and reached 150. I think that there's a difference between the best pic ever and the most pro-looking shot ever. For example, I would say that although the shot above is definately not my best/favourite shot, it is the most pro-looking shot I've taken, as I can kind of see it being on the brochure for stethoscopes, or medical-related websites..

Just wanted to clarify.. :D

OK, I'm in the wrong forum, and these were taken with a non-pro camera (300D) but for what it's worth, here's mine.

Liquid Gold. I could see this advertising orange juice.

The Birthday Fairy. I did this one for my daughters 10th birthday last year. I think it would make a nice greeting card for a little girl.

Cheers,

I'd vote for the rabbit too, but then, rabbits are a particular weakness of mine. I've had them as pets every since I was a little kid.
But the first shot does look like something out of a clothing catalog.

I can't decide.

EOS-10D with 50/1.4 in natural light.

PowerShot S40 in artificial light.

Neither picture is among my favorites. :-)

What lens did you use for the shot of the girl drinking OJ?

Don't think mine is quite on par with the other pictures already shown, but here's my entry. Taken at a local dealership's event to introduce the new VW Jetta. Shot with my 10D and a 17-40 f4L

1/20s f4 @ 17mm. 100 ISO

What if everyone says They're NOT PRO they're [email protected] ??!

Ok took these the last few weeks. This one was a set of portraits but looks bit like a fashion shoot. I don't know if flash or lighting would have improved them as I don't have any LOL :-)

I love these...as always without even seeing your name I know these are and Angela photo. There is always a subtle soft and romantic look that is uniquely your own. Good stuff.

what an interesting idea...first what does "professional looking" mean. Looking at the images above I guess were talking about something that could be used commercially more than something taken by a "professional". I like that idea.

not sure if these are my best but they are recent.
Here is one I could see on a wine ad or cover for a wine catalog or magazine.

I'm going to bend a rule here...hope Phil doesn't mind...it isn't really a bikini shot. I think this is kind of cover worthy.

I think this has a kind of commercial or advertising look.

Excellent as always William! Here is a fashion pic I shot. That I
believe you'd see in a fashion magazine.
