Best US price for Lexar 1GB/2GB CF?

Were your Microdrives of the IBM variety? I have heard they were dogs, but that the Hitachi ones have fixed the bugs and are much more robust.

I think you NEED 2 cards minimum ... precisely because you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket. If you have 2 cards, you can switch them and offload the full card when there is a lull in the action ... that way you are not entirely relying on one card, in case it ever failed somehow.

So in my mind you're much better off getting 2 smaller cards than one big one.

Yes, they were IBM Micro Drives.
I am glad to hear that Hitachi has a better version.

In case anyone else needs one of these, the company mymemory.co.uk have some good deals. I picked up a 2GB Lexar 80x CF card for £99 plus postage.

Their prices change often, so be sure you order quickly if you see a price you like. They also list on eBay, which is where I picked up my card, after a price increase on their own site.

Stuart.
