S2 is a 9 mpixel beast

I also heard S2 comes with a free Brooklyn bridge.
Don't hold your breath for this one.

I am keeping my S1, won't upgrade to D1x
,want to get a FF, from either Fuji or Nikon.
Being not a pro I can afford it (the wait).
all D1x hungry photogs , hold on to your wallets and wait for the
S2 annoucement in sep. 2001 peter
I have the S1 and I love it, but is this 9mp in Fuji terms (the S1
really is not 6mp) or is it really 9mp?
What body is Fuji using?

The S2 will be using the Nikon Pronea body. :-b

If Fuji is planing a S2, then we must hope Nikon will alow them to use a better house for it. Remember that FujiFilm allready have a 1:! size chip in their Luma Digital Camera Back, and the specs are gret:

Ideally suited for the Fujifilm GX680III Systems and other popular medium format cameras
4-way rotating via an unique quick release mechanism
Full format 3.6cm x 2.4 CCD array with 2.048 x 3.072 pixel resolution
Host computer - Firewire capable Macintosh
Standard firewire offers virtually unlimited distance
Exposure time: user selectable up to 3 minutes
Live video option: Up to 5 frames per second with multiple auxillary monitors
Capture rate: 1 image every 1.5 seconds
User friendly software provides many composition and image enhancement features

So they know how to do things at Fuji. My best guess is that Nikon will sell them a F65 or F80. The F90x and F100 are to much of a pro-series to let Nikon sell them to Fuji. I would die for a F100 with the S1 chip,- wow. But lets wait and see what they will come up with. Untill thenn, i'll stick with my S1........
