I have had an Epson 960 for almost three years now. The original ink cartridges are about to run out.

Should I stay with Epson, or go to another brand of ink and save some cash? I am quite satisfied with the color I get out of the printer now.

Would that change if I changed ink vendors?

Where's the best place to buy the ink, on the web?

As a sidebar, when I bought this printer, it was getting a reputation for nozzle clog. I have never had a single problem, and you can see, the machine sits idle, much of the time.

Thanks!!

Jeff,

if you're still on the original cartridges then I wouldn't worry too much about how much money you could save by buying someone elses ink. Especially since you may end up with clogging problems if you don't use Epson's inks. I buy genuine Epson cartridges for the 960 from http://www.atlex.com/Epson/inkjet_printer/photo_960.htm

I've run many cycles of cartridges through my SP960 and have never had a clogged print head. (Have to occassionally purge air bubbles from the cartridge nozzles, but that's simply a matter of removing the cartridge and placing it right back in the slot - the printer then recharges the nozzle and it's good to go.)
