NEW NIKON D1x?

B&H (www.bhphotovideo.com) is listing the D1X at $3,899, but shows it as back-ordered. Knowing that the new D2X is out I would think they will only get a few more if any at all.

I am not sure, but I believe that all new D1X have the buffer-upgrade standard.

Question: If you really want to spend almost $4000 for a 4 year old camera (even a good one, don't take me wrong, but nontheless using at least 2-3 generation old technology), why not spend another $1000 and get the top model? Or go for a used one. Checking on E-Bay and some other stores like KEH (www.keh.com) you can get a used one between $1600 - $2400, most likely with the buffer upgrade already installed. Check it out.

Who & what would be the charge for a new Nikon D1x?

I may have a two year old D1X w/less than a 1000 frames available this Friday. This camera Kit has all firmware and buffer upgrades. This is my #3 backup camera. It is in pristine condition, never been outside or exposed to moisture, dust, etc. It will go for less than $1800.

The D1X is out of production. See the Nikon line-up:

You can still find it in the archives:

The fact that it is out of production doesn't mean you can't find one new. I saw a post on this forum within the last month of someone buying a "D1" new, from a dealer. (I think the person paid $800)

I would be interested in that . . .

I have two used ones available if you or anyone else is interested. Both very clean and well cared for.

I'm fairly new to this so I have a question: If the D1X is your #3 camera, what are #1 and #2?

Thanks.
