The softwars's version in my camera has 1.00

I understand that an update to 1.12 is unounced. Is it worth it to update the software? Sometimes when you update troubles are starting.

Can I update from 1.00 directly to 1.12, or do I have to first update to 1.11, in order to have all the updates installed?

After I got my D I updated to 1.10. I have not updated since because I didn't need the updated function. If you need or want the new function, update. Otherwise I wouldn't.

You should be able to update directly to 1.12. You could go directly to 1.11.

Depends. Personally I, and many with me, couldn't survive without the 1.10 update. :)

1.10 added support for stop-down metering with M42, K and M lenses (lenses without an "A" postition on the apperture ring).

1.11 added support for Remote Assistant.

1.12 added support for Compact Flash larger than 4GB.

There might be some bug fixes not announced too.

For full information about what the releases added, please see http://www.pentax.ca/support/cs_softwareistd-112.php

If you want one of the intermediate updates (1.10, 1.11) I think I still have them at home. Send an e-mail to me if so (see address in profile).

That's a fine catboy. Looks kind of like a Birman. It he?

I have updated twice, first to 1.10 and then to 1.11 without problems. The only thing you need to make sure is that you have fresh batteries in the camera.

I'll see if I still have the instructions for updating as well as the firmware. I'll e-mail you later, I'm at work now and the firmware is at home...

He sure is! :) That's his favorite spot, he doesn't like lying in your lap. When he wants to feel close, he goes for the shoulders. Still going strong, not as old as GVRB's Smokey, but close, he passed 16 last December.

Well, I envy you. We are Main Coon folks, but they are all gone now. Been thinking about Birman, but they are so hard to find. We are in Virginia. Where are you. Do you know of any breeders in our area.

Sorry, Dave, I haven't got a clue! I live in Sweden and it's actually my girlfriends cat, although he has accepted me, as you can see. :)
