I did get out this afternoon, it was real nice in mid 60s, no wind and the sky was very nice.
Just went downtown Fort Worth and walked around.

First 2 shots are the Man With Briefcase, it is 50 foot high. It was somewhat hard to shoot, with the bright sky in the background and I was shooting on the shadow side.
The next shot is the new Pier One Imports home office building.
The last one is the little corp. jet on the runway at work.

Heck fire, 4 shots and 2 plugs, not bad........ LOL

The Tree-Huggers came onto my property and were creating a disturbance so I grabbed my UZI and shot one of them!!!

This one hid behind some limbs and I couldn't get a clear shot:

Both those taken with the C-2100UZ/B-300 combo through the sliding glass door.

Yesterday and today we had some real sunshine for a change! It was a welcome change after the gloom of the last several days.

Sunrise this morning behind my house. "Red sky at morning; sailor take warning". The rainy weather is supposed to move back in tonight or by tomorrow. :(
(Taken with 'another' camera.)

From the front yard:

Bill,

Those are really fine images!! I like the negative space sculptures; really something different! I see the VP's are still around with their toy FedEx plane! The building is the best of that lot of fine photos. Superb exposure and great upward perspective.

Best to you, my friend,

****:)

For FedEx ? lol

I had to scroll down to see the entire building image.....I kinda liked the "cropped" version , without the foreground.

Dusted off the 750 on Saturday morning and took it for a walk , along with the dogs , at the local park.

The area is an old wine growing region and some of the vines have survived the urban sprawl.

We had lunch at a popular Sth Oz holiday destination on Sunday. The food was great and we "dragged" some nice weather.

We were headed home when Mel saw this seen.....those spotters fees are really eating into my wallet ! lol

cheers all

Sandra and I were welcoming the ferry passengers for the Waiheke Wine Festival.

But the Eleven o'clock ferry filled up in Auckland City. A relief was sent, and that still left some passengeres waiting. So I took pictures of ferries leaving Auckland (at 10x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom), which I then showed to the passengers, saying, 'Here is a ferry that has just left Auckland'.

This one was passing us by as well.

From memory, this one picked up us volunteers as hoped for.

I was recognised at the Wine Festival, and congratulated for keeping the waiting passengers amused with the LCD screen images of passing ferries.

Technical details are found in the captions of the images listed here:

But the last one, well that one has to go..

I don't want to see any more shots like that again... It really makes the rest of us look bad....

That is a beautiful image, that has to be right form a post card.

For the most part I had an extremely frustrating and discouraging week.

Tues. received the materials (sheet polypropylene) I ordered for the backlight box experiment on Tues.

Weds. Frank cut and assembled it, still no sun or sand, so I used wood shavings and whatever lighting I could muster up:

Thurs. we finally made it down the driveway and spent most of the day running errands...like shopping, getting sand and a flood light bulb. :)

Fri. still no sun, so I tried everything imaginable with different lighting, angles, backdrops...most were blown out and awful. A few more rather artsy examples can be seen here:

Sat. Here comes the Sun! So I decided to give it another try...the setup:

And after a five hour shooting, downloading, arranging shells session, moving the box around to miss the shadows...Voila!

I got my beach and my memories of shelling back, not to mention it was wonderful to even feel sand again. :)

This was the last shot of the day, after the sun had crested our western hillside, the front lighting was reflective lighting from the eastern hill.

More shots from Saturday can be seen here (including EXIF and larger sizes)

Now...the problem is I feel better, but since Frank would rather be living near the beach I have opened up a whole other can of worms. LOL

PS: All your shots are superb as usual Bill, but I really think the Pier One building is outstanding.

about 8 shots for the week...pretty lame showing but had other things to do.

The week started with the moon & Jupiter showing up close to another, shot handheld at ISO 400, 380 mm with Oly C-755:

And I found this in the front yard where a tree had been removed. The roots are still there and are decaying very slowly. Shot with a +2 close-up filter at ISO 50 with the C-755:

Any comments are appreciated....and if anyone knows if the 2nd photo stuff is some life form, I'd be happy to hear about it.

Thanks for looking.

Didn't think I really had something to show, but I guess I did do some shooting this week.

The first is just a picture of our dog as he laid on his back. My daughter loved it so much, that is is now her computer desktop. (She loves that dog).

The second is an image that I am reworking slightly to use at my wife's 51st birthday party that I am having for her in March. I posted a speed limit sign once before that I reworked to indicate 51 mph, now I thought I might try a product. Now sure it really looks like a 51 yet. My goal is too have a bunch of photos indicating "51" while never actually telling anyone what birthday it is......could be trouble.
