I just bought a Nikon 995 after two years of fun with my old 950. Yesterday I installed the fully charged Li-ion battery. When I put the camera on there's always a flashing sign that stays in the right upper corner

It just like a little watch (altought I already set the right date and time). I read that the internal backup battery will charge the first time you put the Li-ion battery on. After 24 hours the sign stays. Do I have to wait further on or is there another problem.
Thanks

Isn't it a flash with slash icon? :-) I mean... just a sign that it won't flash? I have the same too if I don't use flash... if i put up the flash then the icon dissapears... if I then press the flash button a few times, a flash sign appears, an eye appears and after that the text SLOW appears... I think you're talking about the flash sign with slash, meaning it won't flash (cause it's not opened)

The flashing icon means that the clock/calendar is not set. Set the clock in the menu and the icon will go away. This happens whenever the internal battery has been exhausted or on initial start-up. Same thing just happened on my Jeep when I left my lights on overnight. What a pain. I lost all my radio settings.

Actually.......

if your camera is a male model and if your lens captured a TRULY hot female, and the camera is quite new.........

As you take more pictures and your 995 gets a little bit jaded, this occurence of over excitement will happen much less often. Of course there are reports of some units getting addicted to certain types of pictures.

Unlikely Max, the 995's just came out and are still in a prepubescent stage.

You can tell if it is old enough by its FIRMware. 1.5 is still limp stage.

Thanks you're right. After removing the Li-Ion battery before the internal BU battery is fully charged the clock must be reset every time.
Now I can remove battery and sign soesn't come up anymore.
