I am a part-time professional photographer. Just got a D70 last week and trying to sort through the digital workflow thing.

My most immediate need is to find a database system that will:
1. Work on a Mac (or, if need be, work via Virtual PC on a Mac)

2. Allow the input of multiple keywords ( ie. Oregon, Owyhee River, rafting) that can be used to search the database and display thumbnails (of images that match the search). It'd be great if I could then edit out some of the thumbnails and email the remaining ones to editors.

3. Tell me where the source file for each image is located. (I'll be storing most of the images off the hard-drive on DVDs. I need a program that will tell me which DVD each image is stored on.)
4. Work with Nikon NEF files, TIFF, JPEG & PSD files.

5. Work for over 10,000 - 100,000 images (both incoming digital images and cataloged scanned slides).

6. And of course, it'd be nice to have a program that's easy to learn and to use.

I've looked at many reviews and it's darn hard to find the right program. Portfolio and IView Media Pro sound iffy. IMatch sounds good but is Windows only. Digital Pro 3 and Hindsight StockView V are also Windows only, though I'd be curious to know if anyone's had experience with those, as I haven't seen those mentioned in forums.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Also, if anyone has a good system for numbering incoming digital images I'd love to hear about it.

MANY THANKS!
