How can a pic be shrunk after downloading from camera to pc without
using an outside source ie photobucket etc. Can a pic thats taken
at full size be shrunk down to under 100 kb and keep fairly good
quality? Just using Zoombrowser, XP, etc.. Then saved for futre
use. Thanks Brad
Hi Brad:
I'm not sure if you meant reduced in size on pixel dimensions..i.e.
to 800 x 600, or compression of the full size image to a smaller
file size?
In either case, you'll need another application as the others have
stated.
The Zoombrowser software that's bundled with the camera will let
you crop and remove redeye, but it doesn't have a resize function.
Keep in mind that to get a file under 100 kb will require a lot of
jpeg compression, even if the image size is reduced to 800 x 600,
resulting in jpeg artifacts, and you may not be happy with the
results. When you get whatever application you chose, just play
around with the compression settings, you usually get a fairly wide
choice, and pick a setting that gives you acceptable quality for
your needs.
