It had two wet cell batteries (took a couple of days to charge) and was fitted into a leather case he had made. The unit weighed about 40 lbs., and shot at a millionth of a second.

Nobody I ever ran into (then) had even heard of a strobe.

Seems to me the recycle time was nearly a minute...

Looks like you will be getting a free D1x Stephen as according to another post in these forums, Nikon Canada has put back the release date by a further 3 weeks.

Now that MUST be some consolation .

No, the blue ones had a B at the end of the name. So a blue Press 25 would be Press 25B, or simply 25B. I may even have some of those too. The blues were used for color film of course, but in a pinch you could use them for B/W too.

Carol,

Been suffering too, so I made some calls, and got inside Nikon Canada, my source told me "they are in transit from Japan and have not yet arrived. No eta (he would not speculate) as to arrival. Hypothetically (he did speculate) it will take minimum 1 week before we turn them around and the dealers start seing them."

I need a drink........
