Hi friends,

I'm enjoying the new 828. This mill is one of three mills in a row. Yesterday the sun went down with some nice goodbye colors. I happened to be in the neighbourhood. BTW one of them burned down recently. It was almost redone after a burn down a year ago. I guess they will do it again because the three mills in a row create a nice view.
Handheld, iso 64, 1/30 2,8 real color mode.

And one without the mill.

Enjoy and comments welcome, as usual.

That a 100% Adrian's: sweet light + windmill. Beautiful light, colours, reflection and composition. You are mastering with hounour on the 828. :-)

Haha, sounds like a good wine. A real Adrian, hehe. That's a big compliment I do not get everyday. Thank you my friend.

How are you doing with the 828 and 20D plan to upgrade?

I did some "real" comparison shots 717 and 828 this morning. I will post soon. I'm on the office. This was a request of Madcat. The 717 felt like a tiny cam in my hands and I had to think twice how to move around with the 717.

Have a nice day,

Adrian :)

Lovely collours !

Have a good weekend !
Bye,

Hi Adrian,

great shots. Are those the three at the side of the canal from Alkmaar to Hoorn in de Schermer?

It's a pity that it burned down again, luckely the person who lived there escaped safely.

My grand grand grand father was 'Molenaar' (the man who worked the winmill) at another windmill in Alkmaar.

Winmills are always great subject especially with these special Dutch skies.

great to see, a bit of memorylane for me.

Thnaks and nope, this one of the mills near Oudorp. A very nice part of Alkmaar.
Here is a picture of two of the mills in the Schermer

Hi Adrian,

Very attractive photos. Good combination of composition and light.
Enjoy to see more.
I showed you in another thread two links with more windmills.
Thanks for your kind comment!
I mixed up here. It's too early in the morning, hehe. I just replied Jeroen in an other thread. Anyway if you like to see more mills see my reply here in this thread to Jeroen. He told me that a grand grand grand father was a miller in Alkmaar. Quite a coincedence.

Hallo Adrian,

Ik fotografeer soms ook windmolens. Het liefst aan de voorzijde met
4 wieken erop. Deze foto laat de achterkant zien en ik "mis" 1 wiek.
Kan ook niet anders, dat weet ik. Maar ik krijg een raar gevoel als ik slechts
3 wieken zie.

Succes met plaatjes schieten.

Adrian...windmills of the Netherlands are a favorite subject of mine to photograph. During the war I took a few shots of windmills with an Argus bakelite camera. Lost them later. Long story. Like your shots very much.

Well, I can guarantee there are four :) It was turning while I did the shoot.

They are really great subjects. They don't walk away, sometimes they turn and most of the time they are situated in lovely surroundings. What more can we wish. Thanks for your kind words, Bob.
