In spirit of Theresa's tree rat photos. Here is our local Sea Rat. I can't count the times I've shooed them away from some tourists lunch that they left in a bag on the beach while they went for a swim. You need your food in a well zipped backpack and have it secured under a cooler to keep them away. Grumble, they really are Sea Rats to me. They'd pester the stuff out of us when I was on the lunch court in high school. I know that was ahem..quite a while ago...and I don't usually hold a grudge.

sea, they could be called "Safeway Parking Lot Rats" . I don't know how many times I've seen folks put groceries in the back of a pickup and go back into the store only to come back to all their sacks opened up with a dozen or more gulls having a picnic. Thanks for sharing, Gene

Tree rat is not a nice name for a sea bird that has a right to be there. Given a choice between the birds and people who leave trash on our beaches, I'll take the birds.
