turning off beep in IDS?

I have a IDM2 and just picked up a 1ds. The problem is whenever the shutter is activated it beeps. This is not the focus beep that is controlled by the three way on off switch. My 1DM2 doesn't to this. I can't find a way to shut it off. This would drive people crazy in weddings. Help! I've been through the entire menu.

the on/off switch has three positions. the bottom off, the middle on, and the top on/beep.. just switch it to the middle position

Thanks Jim:

I have it in the middle position. If you turn that beep on, it's only for focus. I don't even know what this beep is supposed to be for. I can't find anything about it in the manual.

Hi David. Sounds like a malfunction I'm afraid. I never saw/heard anything like with with my 1Ds. Joe

I agree with Joe. AFAIK there's not even a custom or personal function for a beep to go off with the shutter. Sounds very odd.
