Now that rechargeable CV-R3s have been on the market for a few months, I was hoping for some feedback on which is the best make for the Sigma.

Amondotech seem to have 3 makes on their web site:
  • Titanium (the orange ones)
  • Generic make
  • Power Vision
All are priced at $27.50 with spare batteries at $18.99.

Details are at

http://www.amondotech.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=298

Alternatively, go to http://www.amondotech.com , click on the link for CR-V3 Charger and click on Rechargeable CV-R3s.

Does anyone have any experience/recommendations with these makes?

The $ £ ratio makes US imports particularly good at the moment, so I'm keen to get some stocks in along with some CR123As.

Any other feedback/recommendations welcome.

I have the red ones titanium....4 of them in my powergrip....they work great. I charged mine before christmas and just yesterday took about 50 pictures with them. So they do hold a charge a lot longer than AA ni-mh.

I'm sorry if that came across as a commercial. I have no links with that web site - I just saw that their prices seemed quite keen, esp as its now 2$s to the £.

Here's a few other links for CV-R3s.

However, the last one of these has US contacts molded into the transformer, so maybe not so suitable for UK adaption. I haven't checked out whether any of these adapters are 240v compatible.

2. You can get matching Titanium CR123s

Thanks for that feedback, Boris.

Are the Titaniums red in real life? They look sort of dayglo orangey on that web site. A bit like a talk show host who's been under the sunlamp too much.

One of the battery sellers made a similar post here a while back, so he was a little sensitized.

Checking your posting history shows you're a genuine sigma user though, so the mistake could easily have been avoided.

I'm very happy with my Nexcell batteries:

http://www.thomasdistributing.com/nc-nexcell-rcr-v3.htm

And I've also been very happy ordering a number of times from Thomas Distributing. I have four and they are still working very well, even at low temperatures.

The only thing that makes me sad is there do not seem to be dual CR-V3 chargers yet, I could not find any on the site you listed either.

Hi folks,

I ordered some Li-ion Zukz batteries and chargers from Crayton Electronics last week. Although I've had a minor issue with the order (two batteries weren't sent), I've had the batteries for 200 exposures in my SD10, working mainly in outdoor conditions (below freezing). No problems so far. I'll update this after a couple of charge/discharge cycles.

The prices are great. Currently a charger is $9.99, and a battery is $12.99. You get a slight discount for buying both. My only issue (previously mentioned) is that no one seems to make a dual battery recharger.

I got some Delkin Devices brand as a Xmas present........they are GREAT!!!

Hi, I have a set of RCRV3s from Amondotech, these ones:-

I've been very happy with them, and they have the advantage over some of the other types on sale, in that they have an 'intelligent' charger, i.e. it monitors the state of charge and stops charging once charging is complete.

Many of the others have 'dumb' chargers, which means that you have to have to be careful not to overcharge the cells.

Also, for those of us in the U.K. Europe the charger is dual voltage and as it has a mains cable it is easy to change the plug.

Thanks,
Gary.

Thanks, Gary. I have also had confirmation from Amondotech that all their CR-V3 chargers take 110-240 volts, and have leads so that you can put a UK plug on them.
