I just bought a Stroboframe Folding Flip flash bracket to use with an F717 camera and a Sony F32X flash.

The bracket is made so you can flip the flash 180 degrees counter-clockwise when you rotate the camera 90 degrees clockwise to take photos in portrait orientation (which keeps the flash above the camera).

The problem is that the connection cord that comes with the F32X to connect to the camera is not long enough to rotate the bracket 180 degrees counter-clockwise.

Is there an extension cable or a longer connection cord that I can purchase somewhere to resolve this problem?

Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

Barry, this is the greatest bugbear with Sony flashes, and Sony's continued refusal to address it (remember how far back the V1 and F32X came to market?) really says it all about their commitment -- or lack of -- to serious flash photography. Same goes, of course, for the inability to use the F32X in a multiple flash setup.

The two solutions are either (1) to cut the cord and rejoin it with, for example, RJ-12 or Mini-DIN connectors allowing you to interpose various extensions that you can make up yourself, or (2) to make up an extension cord using the correct 4-pole tip/ring/sleeve 2.5 mm audio type connectors. The plug is relatively easy to obtain -- you can cannibalise from a cheap Nokia (clone) personal hands-free accessory. The socket is harder to source. Here's a thread on it:
