I have both SD10 and SD9. I like SD10's sharpness and green sensitivity. But the SD10 red sensitivity is too awful to let me want to sell it. The pure red is represented as strange purple wheather in the in day light or a room with light

As Chunsum said, post a sample please. Otherwise, you might want to tell a bit about how you are metering.

Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.

The capsicum has a little purple and the purple will get more if the reflect light in the capsicum was more

I used the Adobe RAW convertor for this photo, I just couldn't get a good result with SPP for this one.

Skywalker,

Welcome to the crowd. Lavender/red/purple colors can take one on a long drive around a short bend... I made a post a couple of days ago on lavender - need to respond as I see that there are some rather excellent suggestions there. You may want to check it out too...

You might consider working on how you work with the camera rather than blaming it for red problems. Learn something about gamut limitations and how to expose for them please.

Skywalker:

I shot several photos of a very RED caboose; the first one in problematic light (6:30pm) ISO800 look at the EXIF info on this photo and compare with the next couple photos in my Sigma SD10 gallery. The next several after first link are better photos -- click next to progress through series at pbase or each link here:

I think the colors on monitor and on pbase are rather true to the red I visually saw -- But the color on my CRT monitor are better-looking than on my laptop's LCD screen -- another variable.
Best regards, Sandy

Most of the "bad" examples look like lighting or exposure issues(bracketing for exposure might help?). A couple look like color correction errors or something of that sort. With my Sd9 I find SPP does not always clean up color issues all that well. I use paint pro for tough shots. Obviously Photoshop would also work.Just my .02, Regards, Mike
