KM 7D vs 20D images????

When I get my 20D I am going to hook up with Jose and we'll get you some comparisons. Probably after the Holidays though....depends on our schedules.

Anyone got any comparison shots, or know of any links.
I'm a canon 10D owner, looking for an upgrade shortly, and I'd be
interested in seeing comparison images. THe 7d looks very
interesting to me becasue I do a lot of handheld/lowlight stuff,
and I hear it's image stabaliser is very effective.
I'm not that bothered by the resolution difference, so long as the
detail is there, and I'm happy to jump ship, so long as it's worth
it.

Tried on the 20D board, but got zip.

Lock me up and toss me the key....I'll never figure it out anyway.

Yes, I see. Of course, I should have realised what you meant.

Thanks for that.

down to the movement of your subject, it simply stops." DO you mean, if the camera detects movement it turns off the IS?
No, it's much simpler: AS and IS in essence have nothing to do with
your subject: it are stabalisation techniques that work on the
"other end". So: if you're already stable, it doesn't work i.e.
improve anything.
Movement of your subject at f.i. 1/30s will cause unsharpness too,
and no stabilisation technique in the world will cure that. Panning
will improve things, but at the cost of the background. For an
action to be "frozen", you need light, simple as that. How to get
there, that's another question...

I can't compare because I've owned only the D60 and 20D. I think both of these are great cameras. I must say though that I find myself strongly drawn to the 7D images. They have a natural look to them that I can't quite explain. I get this sometimes with 20D shots but not always. If I was coming into it new I would be looking mighty hard at the 7D. The difference is NOT enough to make me switch systems though.

Comparing the ISO 800 and 1600 images from the standpoint of noise versus detail retention, it looks like the Canon may be slightly less noisy, but at the expense of sacrificing significantly more fine detail than the KM. This hasn't been written about in any of the reviews to date. I wonder if it is a "real finding". It's difficult to be certain, when viewing even large-scale images on the web. - Bill
