any good or bad experience with either dbuys and buy dig , are either a factory oly dealer so i can get my 100 $ rebate when i order my 128 sm card from some body else

I would keep away from buydig

I bought some goods from them and then when I asked to return a smartmedia card they said to keep the piece and the would issue a $50 credit to my charge .

They never issued the credit. They do not return my phone calls and have not replied to 4 emails.

I would not want that to happen to you

Dave,

I bought my 2100uz from Dbuys and had no problems. The camera price was low but the sm cards are high. suggest you get an accessory other than the SM cards which can be bought for around $50.00 for a 64mb elswhere.

I bought from Buydig 2 days ago, no results yet. I would suggest the 64 meg Olympus SM card from e-cost @ $71.55.... it's good towards the $100 rebate, and you got $30 left for something else.

So far Buydig experience good... I called them Tuesday to see if C2100 was in stock, they said yes, so I placed order on-line (not on phone) Tuesday afternoon. Got Fedex tracking number with message it has shipped, today at 11:00 AM. Not calls hastling me to buy anything else.

By the way, I found Olympus 32 meg Smartmedia for $32.99 ea., two is probably better than one 64 meg...

They have a 5 star Yahoo rating.

I hope I get the same quick response. I ordered a 2100 Wednesday night, hoping it will arrive by next midweek. I didn't order any accessories with it, and so far no phone calls, so maybe I'll get a Fedex number tomorrow, that would be nice.

I did check buydig at resellerratings, and most problems seemed unrelated to just getting the merchandise, it was either credit cards, or trying to return something, and I don't expect to need that. It's hard to believe the price is only $610 shipped 2-day, I think it will be a nice supplement to my D450z, or vice-versa.

Tom: What rebate is Olympus offering? I know that there was one that had already expired, wondering if there is a new one?

It's the same rebate, they extended it to Sept. 30, 2001. Should be at the Olympus site to downlod. $100 cash back on any Olympus accessory, purchased with or after you buy the C2100. $50 on SM cards for the C700.

Walt and Tom:

I also ordered a 2100UZ from buydig. I am glad to hear that the camera is in stock.

Please keep us posted here over the course of the next few days. From what I've read, buying from buydig can be a harrowing experience.

I wanted to ask you guys some questions:
1) Did you call your order in, or order online?
2) How many business days did it take for you to get your tracking numbers?
3) How did you opt to have your order shipped?

I guess you could say I'm a bit worried after relying on http://www.resellerratings.com and cnet.com's ratings to make my choice. Time will tell if it was a wise decision, or if I just got lucky.
I just ordered a 2100 from buydig today. Cost was $610.95 with
second day shipping. A guy named Dan was very nice and helpful. He
mentioned the accessories available but didn't push them. He said
the camera is in stock and will arrive Tuesday by FedEx.

I ordered mine from Buydig last Tuesday afternoon. Got my tracking number Thursday morning. I ordered it on-line and called no one. I ordred it ground. I just checked with Fedex ground and it says it's on a truck to be delivered today, WOW! If I don't get it I'll let you know. I can recommend Buydig highly. Good luck.

In follow-up to the message I just sent, just received my C2100, 11:00 AM

today. I would say not worth paying extra to get faster service, since ground only took 6 days. Was packed fairly well, appears to be all new in box, but can't tell if it had been opened (no factory "seal", is there supposed to be?). All stuff in the box has all factory wrapping, with warrantee card.
Charging my batteries as we speak! No complaints yet.

As I metioned in an earlier post, I ordered mine late Thursday by telephone with a guy named Dan. On Saturday I received a tracking for FedEx. I paid for the second day delivery. The tracking showed that it was picked up by FedEx Friday morning just like Dan said it would. It also showed that the package left New Jersey on Saturday. Dan said I would get it on Tuesday. I'll be back here tomorrow and let ya'll know how it went.

Tom, Walt -

Thanks guys. I ordered mine on Friday afternoon, and so far no word from them regarding shipping or status. I'm starting to get nervous. I paid extra for 2-day shipping, so I would expect to receive the camera on Wednesday. I also ordered online without calling them, so Tom, I'm glad to hear everything went well.

I will keep the group updated.

I had to return three bad 2100s before I got a good one. It's not Ritz fault that they sold me a bad camera, but they deserve some credit for letting me bring a bad camera back and exchange it for another one, without giving me a hard time about it.

I guess I have bad luck. But remember that these are very complex machines, and pixel issues aren't uncommon. So whether you can return or exchange something makes a huge difference. Don't just assume you won't have to.

I have now had two very good experiences w/ buydig. Hope Leo's is an anomoly... Bought my first digi camera, the C-3000 from buydig in Jan. i was quite naive [didn't know about dpreview back then!!] and bought a bunch of accessories. Camera came one day later than promised. Considering the price, it was a very good deal.

Ordered a C2100uzi from them on Friday and received it today. I didn't buy any accessories, just got the $30 2 day fedex shipping. I received the camera today, one day earlier than promised. Excellent service and price this time around.

Perhaps I'm lucky...

While I never had to return anything, I was never given the opportunity to even receive my order. Screw 'em.
