Who is returning there S-75 for the S-85?

Do you remember that jingle from everyone's favourite home computer, the Commodore 64...

"I adore my 64.. my Commodore 64..."

...we need to think one up for our 'classic' cameras.

"I jive with my F505... my Sony F505..."

Dang, can't think of anything that rhymes with F505V... :)

Ok ok, so jingles were never my forte...

The point is, you can still take amazing photographs with the s75,
505 or whatever, its the subject that should make a photograph not
so much the quality of it. imho
I have been thinking about it, I have till the 23rd to return it to
Sears. So far I love the S-75 better than any digicam I have owned,
in fact I think I like the colors better on the S-75 than S-85 from
what I have seen. I know that if I do return it I will have to wait
till the end of July maybe till august without a piece. I tell you
these forums can drive a person nuts! I guess Iam still
contemplaiting it, I hate being #2. So is anyone planing in
returning it?

I would never use a G1 again
unless they fixed all the problems it has and
came out with a succesor.

I cant live without a digicam now..so.. return s75 is now an option :)
Just fill up 2 64MB in a trip to botanical garden.

When s85 will be out? and how many? shortage like s75 again? Perhaps will get an upgrade when there is something like F505 update.

NO...
CF SM are proprietaty format because my sony camera cant read CF or SM.

I also complain why my VHS cant play DVD. ooh.. my DVD player cant play region ..... code.
Thanks Sony for making my new purchase obsolete within two weeks.
The top of the line is now at the bottom. Also I can’t stand
supporting Sony with their proprietary memory format “memory
stick also. Never again sony!

I dont know why people complain about the sony memory thing so much, once you have it in your camera you dont even think about it, whats the big deal? I can shoot 82 shots at the highest res with my 128 MB stick. If I ever need to change to Smart media or flash I will just sell the Mem stick on Ebay. I just sold my Micro drive for about $30.00 less than I bought it for on ebay, whats the big deal? Proprietary mem is the least of my worries when buying a cam.

Do you really think that you will be a better photographer with the
S85 than you are with the S75? Once the camera gets up into the
3mp range, is more really better? It's what you do with the tool
that matters.
Tell that to my wife!!

Yes when I plunk my hard earned money for the latest technology from a company, I feel its fraud that they did not disclose another model was coming THAT SOON. I also have a Nikon 880, canon S110 elph. I knew the S300 & S110 elph was coming even when I bought my original S100. I ebayed my S100 with no problem and bought a S110. When I get my next camera, I will ebay my 880. I have a significant investment in compact flash and usb readers. (I have 384 megs of CF memory). I just don’t want to support sony, period. They can shove their memory-stick!

Hi Kirk,
Count me out - I am keeping my S75. Let me count the reasons:
  • I hated the 3 months wait until I was able to get my S75 - (I do not want to repeat the experience any time soon)
  • I was able to get a good price and I want to enjoy the feeling for a while.
  • In reality, the S75 has more features than I will probably learn to use in the next six months. If and when I do become more profficient, Sony will have the S95 (or later model) out and I will start the waiting game all over again.
  • Somehow I know that neither I, nor anyone else, will have the latest and the greatest - there is always one on the making/released/on sale that is a latter model than mine/yours.
And finally, I have the advantage of being older... when you get older you have a lot more patience AND you realize what is really worthwhile getting upset about - it is certainly not a camera - not even a great digicam ;-)

So, enjoy your camera, learn how to use it, take lots of pictures, share them with your friends (on line and off line). When you find you want to do tihings that your camera is unable to do... then it is time to trade up. Until then........ HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!! LIFE IS GOOD !!!!!

"Dania" is a young name.

And for such a young name and attitude, you certainly have sagely wisdom behind your words. I hope to see your pictures sometime soon. :)

Enjoy your camera!

This is for you.

How about: I come alive with my S75!

This is the goofyist reasoning I've ever heard. Basically you just didn't want to know that another model was being released.

What is everyones problem with the memory stick. Flash is Flash. You think when you make an investment in CF that it's going to be usful in 3 years? Technology and form factor march on. There are now at least 4 flash formats for cameras, and I would bet that though memory stick is supposivly "propriatary" that it is more widely supported than any other format. Memory Stick bays are built into digial cameras, video cameras, palm computing, windows CE palmtops, laptops, MP3 players, etc, etc, etc...
No other flash format has this level of compatability.

Learn how to spell, It's "proprietary". I bet you still love betamax. I just bought a 256 meg CF card for the price of a 128 memory stick. Additionally, go find a 128 stick now, good luck!
