PICTURE of the YEAR...

What a bunch of great shots. This is what keeps me from getting too frustrated knowing that the camera is capable of such great photos, its just me that has to learn and practice.

After about 500 trys, and thats not an exaggeration, I finally got "the crown". Twice

I am cheating because I just got back into serious photography. So this wasn't shot with my D70 or even this year, but it's one of my favorite shots. About a year and a half old. My son in the backyard.

Great pic jammerbirdi !

Here are my two favorites (only had the camera for about two months and the moto shot was after owning the camera for about a week). I can't get enough of action photography... stepping out the door in a couple minutes to go shoot my first indoor soccer game!

Not so much a competition as a celebration of the D70 and all our
efforts to take great pictures. Maybe we can pick some best of the
best later on. Choose that one image that stands out above all the
rest and post that sucker.

Comments welcome on mine, of course.

I've been there, but couldn't find the path down to the shore that would let me take the postcard shot of the lighthouse. How'd you get down there?
Split Rock Light House just across the boarder into Minnesota from
Thunder Bay, ON Canada.

Everyone's pictures are just great, and a real pleasure to view. Mine are not as good (this is not false humility!), but I can't pass up joining the fun. Here are three, each a different style. I won't bother posting my scenics, as they don't even compare! Great job, everyone!

I had hard time choosing, so here are top 3 I picked:

Which one do you like? Any comments?

  1. 3, the skiier. My only (amatuer) comment is I'd like to see it cropped more on the skiier. You might lose a touch of the feel of the picture though... so it's all what you're going for. I'm a big fan of cropping right into the action unless another part of the image is necessary to "set" the action.
