PICTURE of the YEAR...

This one isn't worthy of sharing space in the same thread with the other incredible pictures that have been posted, but this is my favorite picture from 2004.

Every time I look at it, I see a waterfall of white lights raining down into a pool of colored lights. I don't know, something about it speaks to me.

Thanks for looking and special thanks to jammerbirdi for starting such a great thread!

Warm regards for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This thread is going to produce some real nice pics as seen so far.
Outstanding everyone.

It was so hard to pick which one to post. There are so many I like.
But I picked this one to post. Hope you like it.
Wow! For a whitewater kayaker, this looks as deadly as it is beautiful. Great shot!

After around 6 months of playing with my D70 I am finally getting pictures that I like. It took me a while to get it my digital pictures to match my slides without the aid of PS (or in my case gimp), but here is one of latest and therefore best this year:

and this one too:

Lastly, saturation in the camera is minimal, sharpening is off, etc...
Here's mine, show us yours.

Not so much a competition as a celebration of the D70 and all our
efforts to take great pictures. Maybe we can pick some best of the
best later on. Choose that one image that stands out above all the
rest and post that sucker.

Comments welcome on mine, of course.

Hi Mikhail,

Thanks for your kind words :)

Scotland is indeed a beautiful place, as your daughter will confirm.

This shot is taken near Glencoe in the mid-west of Scotland. On days like the one I took this photo I think there is no place on earth better - I call it the Yosemite of Scotland :)

You will have a great time here and I hope the weather is kind to you :)

Best regards
David
David, that's a stellar shot! Where is it? My daughter is in St.
Andrews and I'm going to Scotland soon - I believe it's pretty
difficult not to find magnificent scenery there ;-)
Cheers

I have a load of arty type pics and holiday shots where I tried to explore what the D70 can do...but in the end I am always a sucker for people pics.

Yours is a great pic jammer, here's one of my daughter that I come back to time and time again so I offer it in that spirit.

I have a few that are technically impressive, but this one just makes me feel good. :)
