Need Help - Movie file

I made a movie file ( first one I have done) of my daughter singing at speach night. I can play it back on the camera and directly to the TV.

When I down loaded to SD Viewer I cannot play it in Quick time. The manual I have (p70) says it ought to be a .mov file but when I go to

View - Image format - MOV the file is not there. What I seem to have is a .jpeg file of the first image.
Any suggestions as to what I have done wrong - thanks

Well, they are .mov files so I would wonder if something happened in the transfer process? Do you still have the file on the card and how did you transfer it to the computer?

The camera makes a .jpeg of the first shot of the file for some strange reason. Your movie is there, it just has the same name with a .mov extension. I think they do that to make your movie files more easily distinguised but personally, I just delete mine and name them appropriately.

Thanks Theresa.

I down load into SD Viewer, Highlight the ones I want to keep then ctrl C, create a ne folder where I want to keep the files and ctrl V.
I dont know if this is the right way.
Any other thoughts.

When you run SD viewer, at the bottom, there are some "buttons" which let you filter what you want to see on the thumbnails. I don't have the program running in front of me, but as far as I remember, there are at least these available: ALL, TIFF, JPEG, MOV. If you have JPEG highlight, you'll only see the first image of the movie. When you copy the files over to your hard drive, I assume the JPEG button was highlighted, and only the image was copied. Try to select MOV, and you'll probably see the movie there.

Thanks for your advice. When I highlight MOV now there is no file. But based on what your saying I will change SD Viewer to highlight ALL and re download. My guess is I I've inadvertly selected jpeg files only.

I hope you haven't delete the file from your SD card. You can still copy it from the card to your hard drive if that's the case.
