Both of these places sell the G6 for about $550. including shipping. Any problems with either of these that I need to know about? They both have 5 star store ratings.....Hum, but are they really?? ..Let me . thanks.........tom

Have you bought from this place?? You know the old saying about if it seems too good to be true....You know the rest....right??

The G6 is not that new but at $459 seems almost like a fish ready to be hooked, a stinky fish.

I checked and see how they rate - Bad!

I just looked at their website and it does not state US warranty. I would be careful. The price seems too low. Check them out on resellerratings.com. Their rating is terrible.

I like taking pictures for fun. I dont take pictures like some of those that you see in the gallery and go ohhhhhhh and ahhhhhhhh.

I am just so glad digital came along since I have tons of film pictures. Now I have tons of CDs and a hard drive with more pictures than games ;)

I just love taking pictures and when I get an opportunity, I like to record it for the moment so years later, my kids or whoever will have some thing to look at or throw my CDs around like frisbees which is why I do print out my favorites :)

Hope to see some of your G6 pictures too tomlzz

good night,

I posted this earlier but what the heck...

I purchased my G6 from Dell, using an online coupon (50 $ off) - net - USD 545 + tax (free shipping). While Dell customer service is nothing special, at least you are not dealing with potential fly by night people, the stuff is genuine, and they dont try and sell you more stuff.

The only downside is that they charge tax, which sucks if you live in a state with sales tax.

Also, the free '5 day' shipping took less than 2 days to arrive - couldn't have asked for more.

Keep an eye out for these coupons (Google for dell + coupons + deals) - you'll probably be able to lay your hands on one in a couple of weeks. XPbargains.com has these posted sometimes. (I was on the lookout for around 3 weeks)

cheers!

I purchased my Olympus C8080 from Butterfly Photo about 6 months ago and had a good experience. Unfortunately, I took an unplanned swim with it before Thanksgiving and now need to replace it. After much deliberation, I finally decided on the G6 and ordered one from them, $535 plus $15 shipping (US), on Sunday. They called this morning and gave me the low key, "do you need an additional battery?" questions. Anyway, I just got home and have an email that they shipped it FedEx 2 day at no additional charge. I would reccomend them easily.

--and they were very good. I even bought the Nikon 8700 from them and was totally unhappy with it and I called them to return it for an exchange no problems. But how times have changed I recently bought a camera from them and it had some issues so I called them for an exchange and they charge 10% restock fee for an exchange I couldn't believe it. Plus when I got the camera the packaging was awful. They put the camera in a loager box by quit a bit and one little air bag and the camera in it's box was bagging around in the larger box. Do a search and you will see another post stating the same about the packaging. Try Beachcamera or J&R they have been doing me good lately and J&R can be talked down on their price to match an authorized dealer.
