Hi Everyone,

This has probably been asked before by someone else but couldn't find any results in the search box.

Ok, what I am looking for is a "prosumer level" flash for the Fuji 4900z. There are 2 so far that have caught my eye. Them being the Digi-Slave Delux 300, or Cannon 380EX. Both have the bounce function that I am looking for and both are prety damn powerful.

The Fuji Manual really doesn't give any indications on flash compatability. The Cannon is E-TTL compatable, but to be honest I don't know if the Fuji is a E-TTL camera (I think its TTL only).

Any suggestions on other external flashes would be reallly helpful.

Thanks

Hi friends,

Metz makes professional flash unit and they have test their products with 4900Z. Check here:

Hi Tzen,

I had a look at the site that Michael indicated. Go to the "Digital Camera Overview", select Fuji 4900z and it will list all the models at the bottom of the list.

Cheers

I sometimes use the Canon 380EX on the 4900 (bought it for my G1 of course). Once fitted on the 4900 it works great, very good colours. But it's not that easy to fit it on the plain-vanilla hotshoe of the 4900, because of the extra pins of this dedicated Canon flash.

It would not be my first choice if I wanted to buy a flash for my 4900.

I also have a Achiever flash (quite inexpensive) that I bought for my MX2900 that works quite well on the 4900.

I only use these flashes in manual mode.

Hi Richard,

Yes, I have actually looked at that page but it didn't help much really. Which model would you buy for your 4900z? I gathered that only 3 model are suitable (without cables) which are 32 Z-1/2 or 32 MZ-3.
