Post your favorite winter shots!

Late from last year or early for this year? This one ended up on our Christmas card last year.. Merry Christmas

Seems only reasonable to have a winter series, since it's winter :)
Now I know it's not winter everywhere, so posting your winter shots
from a previous winter is fine. If your in a warm part of the
country, then lets see what winter looks like there! As always,
Rebel shots are great, but all shots accepted. To start things off,
here is what winter looks like in Nebraska. Dark, cold, snowy, and
fun! I could of lighened these up, and boosted contrast and
saturation, but that's not what a stormy winter day looks like
here. This is:

At Breckenridge this year. It was about 19 degrees F, and I learned how quickly a battery would drain in the cold (about 1/4 the normal shots I would have gotten). I also learned that I need better gloves for a 2 hour hike.

By the way, I haven't posted many images. Is this too big? If so, could someone recommend what to do in Photoshop Elements to get this to a reasonable size and still have it look good (or as good as I shot it)?

Thanks,
Dave

Well what about all those old movies with the Canandian Mounties
riding in the snow? I suppose that was "fake" snow? LOl
No. It was real snow alright. But I'll have you know that they shot
those in Michigan.
...and the guys who played the Mounties were all actors brought in
from Wyoming ;-)

Almost makes me want to go outside....but I can enjoy your picture
just fine from right here in front of my monitor with my nice big
cup of hot cocoa by my side ;-)

Setting in the house is no fun, you have to get out and stay out until your fingers turn blue. That's how I know it's time to go home :> )

It is just a crop. Here's one where I zoomed in more so I didn't
crop it as much.

I hope you've printed and framed that shot and have it hanging in a prominent location in your home! It's simply stunning!

This is a merge of 2 or 3 vertical images. I need to find it again and give it the what for with the shadow highlight tool.

I also like this one. I was freezing my a** off taking this one. Camera works fine down to 0F.

Eric,

Don't go and start saying it is green here. You are goign to bring the snow here man !!!! :)
You did this for fall :-P

It's too early buddy ! I have no clue where you live, but seems to
me you live in a area where your season always start sooner than
the majority of us. I live in southeast Canada and its only about
to start here. Still green as we speak out there.

Cheers and wait for us !

Very hard trying to expose the dog and not blow out the snow but I was pleased with these two shots from this afternoon.
