WDYSPT? - Nov. 28th

Well, what a dissapointment; having a lot to say and noone even shows up to listen.

Is it the ongoing challenge inspiring so many or is there some other reason for all this B&W stuff we see? In this case it can be the motif itself of course, I really like theese pictures monochrome. I also like the perspective used in the second one. The flag and the face are so... right. Lucky the flag didn't divide the face in two exact halves, then it would have been a little to much...

The frames - I see a Drebel can have a 35mm film frame, what is it that gets a Hasselblad (but turned 90 degrees compared to what you usually see) frame? Are they from a commercial set of frames or have you made them yourself? Nice either way, just curious.

  • seemed like there were a speakers like that today - but it was miserable out today

  • a bit of both? - i've been slowly building a small b&w gallery for a month or so - seems like these 'moods' go in cycles.

thanx - seemed appropriate to the weather also

Thank you for the link.

Now I'll see if I can mimic both the noise and gelatin "frame" from my old Orwo films. I'm afraid everything gets too smooth in Photoshop. The Orwo films always struggled when they were develoed. They got stuck and were always hard to get out from the holding spirale in the drum and after having dried up they were not flat but (words from a dictionary now) alternating between dented and embossed.

thanks again,

Jonas

...which in English should be something like very nice pictures Adrian :-). The first one captures very nicely the dull, chilly feeling one can get in this weather. It seems like you have the same weather in London as we have here in Lund..Brrrrrr..

Cheers!

You know how it is, the wind picks up a little bit and the wife makes you have fold up the beach chairs, bring the air beds in off the water and put away the sanwiches - just ruined the day!! ;-)

Oh well, back to reality, we had a good storm this afternoon. Very difficult to keep the camera still in the wind and I couldn't keep the spray off the UV filter for more than a minute or two.

Not photographically great, but for anyone interested small gallery at:

First semi-decent day we've had in Detroit since I got my 7D --

Still learning, still trying, but I hope you'll enjoy the sunset.

I can't seem to get these to size right -- I apologize to those of you with dial ups.

Wendy

Try downsizing them to at the most 800 pixels at the long side before you upload them on photobucket. It is much easier to enjoy the imges if you can have all of it on the screen at the same time.

Annyway, the D7D seems like a nice camera.I have a hard time fighting the temptation :-)

All the best!
Fred
